Description

Our Organic Green compost from Equigrow, is PAS100 certified and is 100% derived from UK sourced natural green vegetation that is overflowing with organic content. Its ideal for use in all our planters having these key benefits:

This compost is very versatile and in addition for use in planters it can also be used as a mulch, as topsoil when mixed with sand and for agricultural purposes as it can add structure to land and is generally great for gardening.

It’s made using green waste from council transfer stations and amenity sites, which is shredded into 70mm pieces and put into windrows. The windrows are then monitored daily for temperature, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and moisture levels. These are turned on a weekly basis, which helps to mix the compost and most importantly introduces more oxygen into the windrow.

After 7 to 8 weeks the compost is put through a screening machine, extracting the 30mm product and 10 mm compost fines ready to use.

The PAS100 accreditation is your guarantee of a quality compost, ensuring that our compost products meet strict criteria for safety, quality, and consistency. Developed and managed by the British Standards Institution (BSI) this encompasses these key features:

Quality Assurance – Compost must be free from contaminants such as plastics, glass, and metals as far as is practical to achieve.
Consistency – The compost must meet strict physical and chemical composition requirements.
Safety – Ensures compost is free from pathogens and does not pose risks to humans, animals, or the environment.
Testing & Compliance – Regular testing is required for stability, maturity, nutrient content, and contaminants.
Traceability – Compost producers must document their process to prove compliance.

All orders received by us are shipped subject to availability.

All our prices include VAT and delivery to any part of mainland UK (excluding highlands and Islands). Deliveries will normally be made by kerbside pallet drop via a specialist courier service between 8am and 5.30pm on a day of your choosing. A text message will be sent on the day with a 2 hour window of the expected ETA.

Morning deliveries can be arranged in most, but not all areas for an additional charge of £20. Timed deliveries may be available for an additional £25. Customers within a 60 mile radius of our Edinburgh base may receive a delivery on our own vans. Please get in touch at the time of order if you have a special delivery request.

We cannot be held responsible for disruption to shipping caused by industrial disputes or action outside our direct control. If such disruption occurs you will be offered delivery via an alternative delivery or fulfilment company or a full refund.

Damaged or missing goods must be reported, in writing with photographic evidence, within 24 hours of receipt or credit claims will not be entertained.
