A more traditional version of the Milatos Minoan storage jar, featuring the classic Pithari shape and side handles along with broad banding and prominent wave design. The large opening at the top makes it ideal for specimen planting. Cretan terracotta pots don’t come more classic than this. A true piece of living history.

Fibreglass Liner
As one of the UK’s leading fibreglass manufacturers we are able to offer full fibreglass lining of the vast majority of our Cretan terracotta pots. Terracotta is naturally porous and even if the drainage hole in a planter is sealed, moisture will still transfer from the terracotta to the flooring, potentially causing damage.
Lining with fibreglass completely seals all the moisture inside the pots and makes them safe to use without saucers indoors on any surface. Fibreglass lining is not recommended for exterior use as the water retention inside the pot means it can freeze and potentially cause the pot to crack.
Cretan terracotta pots should only be used outdoors if they have a working drainage hole and preferably are stood on the terracotta feet we supply.

Tanker Irrigation
Download our Tanker Irrigation Brochure
Tanker irrigation is manufactured by Livingreen Design in the UK and was originally designed by the celebrated Edinburgh based Landscape Architect, James Hope. Subsoil irrigation tanks are placed under the plant during planting and are filled by can or hose using a tube that connects the tank to the surface. Each tank is equipped with a uniquely developed geotextile wick which has been designed to transfer water from the tank to the soil as water is used by the plant, keeping the moisture content optimum at all times. The result is plants that don’t suffer the stress of being to wet or too dry making them both grow to a better shape and produce more flowers. Even better, the reserve of water means that the period between waterings can be doubled, so halving the number of waterings necessary to keep the plants looking at their best.
Tankers are very easy to fit and use and the benefits greatly outweigh the small extra cost. They remain the only subsoil irrigation system that has been the subject of a University research team that over a 6 month period, proved all the claims we make for this product.
